Fuel systems are a key part in maintaining reliability on any boat and diesel being one of the most robust fuels it usually isn’t a chore to keep these systems performing well.

The plumbing components and filtration systems in almost every factory fitout are extremely high quality being that the manufacturer usually does not cut corners in making this system an area of concern, given the personal injury, environmental hazard and reliability factor.

From what we have seen diesel fuel hoses and fuel filter housings can last anywhere from 10 to 25 years and with careful periodic inspection could be the last thing to be concerned about, small diameter engine fuel hoses are a different story and are usually subject to vibration/flexing and overall thinner wall thickness which make these hoses and clamps the ones we usually look closely at and change frequently.

Primary filter housing such as seapar and raycor units we completely rebuild at every major service determined by the manufacturer and completely clean the units and check for corrosion, these units are the first line of defense in your engine fuel system and the part of the system that sees the most debris.

Fuel leaks are not accepted but unfortunately are quite common and the products and methods we use to find and repair these are very time efficient and effective so please, if you do have any fuel system leaks let us take care of that.
